An extended sailing honeymoon was the inspiration for Vacay Style, a clever mix-and-match fashion line that makes packing for – and looking great during – vacations a breeze.

As one who all too often suffers from too many clothes and not enough room, Vacay is a revelation. You have your own stylist curating your wardrobe of stylish lightweight and wrinkle-free fabrics.

The Martinique Racer Back Dress doubles as a top when knotted at the waist.

“Packing for an 18-month adventure within the confines of a tiny boat closet was not an easy task. During the trip I learned how to pull together a collection of items that could create outfits in easy-travel and packable fabrics,” founder Elizabeth Hynes said.

Now Elizabeth does the same for all of us. Each of her beautiful collections creates a complete vacation wardrobe with just five pieces in addition to two essential pieces you own, a white tank and jeans for example. Those seven pieces now yield 14 or 15 different looks.

The Martinique Collection magically transforms into 14 outfits.

The new Martinique Collection features a range of refreshing nautical blues and whites that is perfect for a charter, resort wear or just something chic for the yacht club. And now through July 30, 2016 Elizabeth is offering Sail Couture readers a special offer – use code SAIL15 for 15% off your order.

Wear the Martinique Maxi strapless for an evening out or as a maxi skirt for sight seeing.

The Martinique Caftan makes a great swim cover up or cute top over jeans.

Be ready for island nightlife in the beaded Martinique Maxi Dress.

I love this collection, particularly the fun tie-dye convertible dress that can be worn as dress or skirt. The caftan makes as a nice cover up for the beach or casual top over jeans and the embellished two-piece MAXi dress is great for an elegant evening out. Swimming, to sightseeing to dancing until dawn, Vacay Style has you covered for your next adventure. How perfect is this for Caribbean island hopping on your next Sunsail charter or perhaps a stay at the fabulous Amanyara?

I also love the photo shoot location, aboard Yankee, a beautiful Gaff Schooner and one of San Francisco’s most famous yachts.

The Martinique Collection photo shoot was aboard Yankee, a grand dame of San Francisco Bay. Photos: left, C. Ray Photography, top right, John McNeill, bottom right right, Latitude 38.

The 1906 beauty has been in the same family for more than 90 years. In fact, the “Yankee family” is now in it’s fifth generation and counts six different surnames among it’s members.

Yankee has a proud racing history, quickly made a name for herself winning numerous regattas, including the Farallon Race, the first one to be held from San Francisco. Today Yankee continues to post regular wins in the classic races on the Bay and in 2012 participated in creating the Invitational Classic Division for the Leukemia Cup, racing alongside such noted yachts as Dorade, Santana, Yucca, and her sister ship from Seattle, the 1907 Schooner Martha. In the 2014 Leukemia Cup, Yankee not only placed second in the Classics, but also was the number one fundraising boat of the entire regatta.

Vacay Style’s nautically-inspired Newport Collection.

Very nautical chic… The Newport Convertible Dress doubles as a maxi skirt.

Loving the elegant black pieces of the Tahiti Collection.

There is much to love in Vacay’s other collections as well. Stripe lovers will go for the nautical chic of the Newport Collection’s Convertible Dress and fans of black will go for the Tahiti Collection’s 2-Piece Jumpsuit and oh so versatile Convertible Dress. It’s so clever how the halter top transforms the dress and jumpsuit to a completely new look. I can so see wearing this aboard one of Paul Gauguin Cruises fabulous Tahiti Cruises.

All of the collections can be dressed up or down and even pair well with a with a single pair of shoes. Elizabeth is clearly on to something.
